my autobiography (dated July 9th, 2009 as sent to my brothers and cousins):

"Ok, I know you all wander about me, hector. Just turned 40 on May 16th and NOONE getting this email did anything for me. But it is to be expected because; since I was 8 years old I fired my Mom from making my birthday cakes and parties, true story: I have been making my own birthday cakes since then!

Ok, we all know the Hang, the Chans, and the Wongs are multitalented, so when you hybrid a Wong with a Chan Hang then you breed something like me! Story short, you all know I have several college degrees on 3 or more different fields, plus speak the same number of foreign languages, had x10 the number of new cars and homes, so below is the end product: I have found my true calling which is not bad at 40 years:

During the weekdays I am a mid mannered Information Technology Manager for www.hawaiistationery.com where I do EVERYTHING, including making fresh bread and cappuccinos for my staff; I also try to make the place corn syrup free.

At nights and weekends I am the Master Baker - CEO - CFO - Localvore Celebrity Chef - Flower Buyer for www.myyellowkitchen.com where I bake cakes that takes 1 to 3 months to make and sell for $1000 or more, and where I share all that is involved around it, like selling hand strained raspberry preserves, hawaiian chocolate and flowers.

I consult for www.sweetnothingshawaii.com and for www.saturacakes.com and been offered full times jobs but declined as expected.

What else? I bought my first place in Hawaii last August. It is 350 sq ft (yes, only), but on a corner unit on the 26th floor and with unobstructed 180 degree views from the Koolau mountains and Tripler Hospital thru all Honolulu and Pearl Harbor. There are only 2 twin size beds and the rest are dining tables, shelves, ovens, counter freezers, a 28 cu ft french doors fridge with bottom freezer, and wine cellars, and I couldn't be happier. There is a little walk-in closet where I have my lab coats and Ferragamo suit, also a gelato machine. And I do fold my clothes so to fit perfectly in my dressers which are actually the bathroom cabinets. Instead of listerine, rubbing alcohol, cologne or such, on my marble bathroom sink I have Grand Marnier, Navan, Chambord, Frangelico, Limoncello, Amaretto, and Kahlua.

Under my bed is my laundry hamper and color printer. Under my guest bed is miscellaneous hardware and tools and also several bottles of freshly distilled lychee, longan, fragolino, and williams liqueur.

I am a single parent of my 6 year old canine bitch (technical term) and don't know who the father is. I have a legal spouse in Hilo, a platonic chocolatier lover in Dallas, and a lineup of fans worldwide.

Since my Father and my Mother moved out from my home, Rose Levy Beranbaum has become my surrogate father, mother, and icon flower. Google her or go to www.realbakingwithrose.com

Great family!

Extracurricular activities and hobbies: a PADI certified and professionally insured scuba Dive Master."
